Scale Consults regularly holds user courses in ScaleSim. A typical ScaleSim user course consists of:
2 days basic ScaleSim. Learn about scale chemistry and learn to use ScaleSim.
1 day advanced ScaleSim and ScaleSimPro. Learn to set up process simulations and run advanced/complex simulations.
Special versions of the course can be arranged, and special sections can be added, for example:
How to use ScaleSim to design lab experiments? How to prepare solutions to achieve a certain pH, a certain CO2/H2S fugacity or scale potential?
How to use ScaleSim to model MEG loops and MEG regeneration processes? ScaleSim has a MEG module allowing user to calculate pH, phase equilibrium, scale potentials, salt solubility and precipitation in MEG systems. Combined with ScaleSimPro, a full MEG loop including chemical injection and the MEG regeneration/reclamation process can be modelled. This tool can be used to both design and troubleshoot MEG loops.
How to calculate input data for corrosion/material evaluation? This will focus on how to calculate parameters like pH, CO2/H2S partial pressure and fugacity, chloride concentration etc. along well-path, in the flowline and in a topside process.
